Mary Kedward
Managing Director
International Travel Health Advisor, RN.
 
 
Mary Kedward has worked in the field of travel health for 12 years. She developed a thriving business from home whilst also working in general practice, and running nurse led clinics over a variety of areas including minor illnesses, family planning, heart disease and baby immunisation. She became a Specialist Practitioner in 1998 and received a Travel Health qualification from Glasgow University . She has extensive experience in teaching in the field of Travel Health, and was previously employed nationally teaching Travel Health to GPs and nurses. Mary has also led several teaching and awareness sessions at schools and Cambridge colleges, and often runs teaching sessions for nurses. She is a member of the International Society of Travel Medicine (ISTM) and the British Travel Health Association. She has recently gained her PADI qualification and learned to ski this year.
 
Jane Wilson-Howarth

Jane is a partner in General Practitioner Cambridge city, having returned to England after 11 years overseas: she worked mainly on child survival projects in Madagascar, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Indonesia, India and, most recently, Nepal. She also has knowledge of the Andes having done research on mountain sickness in Peru, and she has travelled in southern Africa. Jane both teaches and writes extensively on travel health; she has taught on courses run by the Royal Geographical Society, VSO, the Register of Engineers for Disaster Relief, Royal College of Nursing, and continues to lecture regularly on Travel Health at the London School of Hygiene & Medicine, for Engineers without Borders as well as speaking on expert panels at travel shows. She is a prolific author; her publications include Bugs, Bites & Bowels, Shitting Pretty, Lemurs of the Lost World, Your Child and Abroad: a travel health guide. She has contributed to a variety of medical journals and to the Independent newspaper. She is also a regular columnist for Wanderlust and, on occasion, to BBC Wildlife magazine. Jane is a member of ISTM and is on the editorial committee of the British Travel Health Association. She is a zoology graduate with post graduate research experience in parasitology and an interest in biting insects and dangerous wildlife. She has acted as a cave rescue warden is also a qualified SCUBA diver and ASA Life Saver.
 
Peter Schofield
BSc MR.R.Pharm.f
 
 
Works chiefly in Somersham, Cambridgeshire and backs up the Travel Clinic staff with his expert pharmaceutical knowledge making sure that the Team has up to date clinical guidance to provide the best care for our clients. Peter has a long experience of advising on treatments for the prevention of malaria. He also has a passion for travel, making him an indispensable member of our team
 
Margaret Bennett
International Travel Health Advisor, RN.
 
 
Margaret is a registered nurse with 18 years of experience encompassing general nursing, travel medicine, immunisation programmes and clinical research. She has been an International Travel Health advisor since 1995 and has managed her own business. She is a member of ISTM. She recently moved from Australia to the U.K. and is a welcome recent addition to the team.
 
Nicky
Nurse
 
 
Nicky is a registered nurse with 6 years nursing experience in general nursing, primary care and expedition medicine.  She has undertaken two expeditions as medic for a charity, in both Namibia and Borneo. This involved teaching tropical medicine, health promotion and providing emergency medical services in remote environments.  Nicky is a keen skier with two ski seasons under her belt and she is a qualified PADI diver who has a passion for adventure and travel.
 
In addition we also employ a bank of nurses experienced in travel health.

The affects of Cyclone Nargis, which struck Burma on 2/3 May, have caused tens of thousands of deaths and left hundreds of thousands more homeless. A state of emergency is in place in Rangoon and Irrawaddy. Supplies of water and fuel arevery low. Further heavy rain is forecast for this region in the coming days and you are advised to avoid these areas and to follow the advice of the local authorities.
On 12 May 2008 an earthquake measuring 8 on the Richter scale struck south-western China, 92 kms northwest of Chengdu, the provincial capital of Sichuan Province.
